Game Summary

After the Predators missed on two early chances on the man advantage, it was the Devils who struck first to take a 1-0 lead. Annunen stopped the initial shot from Hughes, but Ondrej Palat buried the rebound at 13:45 to give the Devils their first goal of the game.

Hamilton doubled New Jersey’s lead about halfway through the second period, beating Annunen with a laser from the face-off circle to make it 2-0. Seamus Casey padded the lead just over four minutes later, receiving a pass from Hughes and beating Annunen from the high slot to make it 3-0.

Stefan Noesen made it 4-0 at 5:06 of the third period with a one-timer on the power play. Tomas Tatar fired a wrist shot from the slot that went in off Predators defenseman Andreas Englund at 9:27 for the 5-0 final.
