Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins each scored power play goals while the Predators couldn't finish on quality five-on-five chances, and the Oilers extend their winning streak to sixteen games.

The Nashville Predators headed to Rogers Place to take on the Edmonton Oilers who entered this afternoon's game having won fifteen games in a row. Nashville head coach Andrew Brunette stayed with the same line up from Thursday night's win over Minnesota, but this afternoon Kevin Lankinen got the start in net.

Nashville recorded the first two shots on net but also committed the first penalty of the game as Jeremy Lauzon headed to the box at 6:38. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored on the power play at 7:55 to give the Oilers the 1-0 lead.

Zach Hyman was whistled for a goalie interference penalty at 9:06, and the Predators had their first power play chance. Filip Forsberg and Luke Evangelista each had a quality chance on the man advantage, but Stuart Skinner came up with the saves.

At 16:42, Forsberg sat for a two minute high stick. This time the Predators' penalty kill held off the dangerous Oilers' power play, and the teams ended the period at full strength with a score of 1-0.

Penalties were the story of the second period. Nashville got the first power play at 5:01 but couldn't convert on their chances. At 11:12, Jeremy Lauzon got tangled with Evan Bouchard and the Oilers went back on the power play. This time Leon Draisaitl scored to give Edmonton the 2-0 lead.

Nashville got one more chance at 12:20 as Darnell Nurse sat for a hook, but Stuart Skinner prevented the Predators from capitalizing. While the Predators controlled much of the period at even strength, the Oilers headed into the second intermission with a 2-0 lead.

The Predators dominated puck possession in the first half of the final period, but it was Connor McDavid that got on the scoresheet at 9:12 playing the puck off of Kevin Lankinen's back to make it a three goal game.

The offensive pressure from the Predators continued after the McDavid goal, but Stuart Skinner continued to stop the shots that came his way. Nashville's tenacity finally paid off as Luke Evangelista popped the puck over the net and Colton Sissons tapped it home at 13:25.

With four minutes remaining, Kevin Lankinen headed to the net and the Predators added the extra attacker. Zach Hyman scored an empty net goal at 16:42 to make it a 4-1 final score.
