The Predators gave up two power play goals, but Alexandre Carrier, Filip Forsberg, and Roman Josi scored in the third period to defeat the Minnesota Wild 3-2 on the road.

The Predators earned a rare come from behind win at Xcel Energy Center against Central Division rival Minnesota Wild ending the Wild's three game win streak.

The Predators appeared to get on the board early in the first period as Michael McCarron tipped a shot past Filip Gustavsson, but the goal was waved off for being played with a high stick. There were several stops and starts in the first half of the period as each team battled timing issues that resulted in offside calls each way. At 13:47 the Predators got the first power chance as Zach Bogosian sat for roughing, but Nashville wasn't able to get set up or record a shot on goal. The period ended with the Predators outshooting the Wild 11-6 but no score on the board.

Neither team generated much offense early in the second until the Wild got their first power play as Cody Glass sat for a trip at 5:49. Minnesota's power play units got four shots on net, but Saros was able to make the saves. At 10:07 Alexandre Carrier headed to the box for a hold and with ten seconds left in his penalty, Ryan McDonagh joined him after his attempt to clear the puck went over the glass. Joel Eriksson Ek scored on the McDonagh penalty at 12:44 to give the Wild the lead.

With less than two minutes remaining in the period, Kirill Kaprizov was called for a hook on Alexandre Carrier. Nashville couldn't capitalize on the power play before the period ended, and the teams headed into the second intermission with Minnesota up 1-0 but Nashville carrying over :22 on the man advantage.

Nashville's power play struggled to make anything happen on the remaining power play time, and the teams returned to five a side less than a minute into the third period. At 1:44, Alexandre Carrier scored from the slot to tie the game. Just :35 seconds later Filip Forsberg stretched around a defender to tip Roman Josi's shot and give the Predators a quick 2-1 lead at 2:19.

The teams exchanged offensive chances through the middle of the period. Roman Josi increased the Predators lead as a shot bounced off net front traffic and past Gustavsson at 11:34. A penalty by Jeremy Lauzon gave the Wild another power pay chance, and Matt Boldy converted on the man advantage at 16:09 to make it a 3-2 game.

With less than two minutes to go, Gustavsson headed to the bench and the Wild added the extra attacker. The Wild pressured in the offensive zone, but Nashville's defense managed the final moments and won the game 3-2.
