Which Predators player could break through and which player will be watching from the press box in tonight's road game against the New York Rangers?

The Nashville Predators travel to New York City to face off tonight against former Preds head coach Peter Laviolette and the New York Rangers. It will be another challenging game for a Nashville team still working on playing a new system. The Preds are coming off of a tough 6-1 loss to the Edmonton Oilers and will be looking to cleanse the palate against the 2-1 Rangers.

New York has wins against the Buffalo Sabres and Arizona Coyotes but dropped a game to Columbus over the weekend. Chris Kreider is leading the team with four goals and five points in three games. The Rangers have plenty of firepower in their top six with Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad, and Alexis Lafranière. The Rangers also boast a solid defensive core led by Adam Fox and one of the best goaltenders in the league in Igor Shesterkin.

The Predators will see Juuse Saros in net, but Phil Tomasino will be healthy scratch tonight. Michael McCarron will slot in the lineup instead.

The Predators and Rangers play tonight at Madison Square Garden. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 pm CT.
