After 26 years, Nashville Predators General Manager David Poile will retire after this season. Barry Trotz is expected to take over the helm.
It is being reported by hockey insider Elliotte Friedman that Nashville Predators General Manager David Poile will be retiring effective June 30 and that his replacement will be former Predators head coach Barry Trotz.
Poile has been the general manager in Nashville since the franchise's inception in 1997. In his tenure the Predators have made the playoffs in 15 of their 23 seasons. He is the winningest GM in NHL history including his time as general manager of the Washington Capitals.
Friedman reports that Poile will be replaced by former Predators head coach Barry Trotz who led the team from 1998-2014. Poile will remain involved in an advisory role.
