We're officially through the first month of the Nashville Predators' 2026-27 season and Filip Forsberg is off to a hot start statistically, despite scoring a few less goals than might be expected from him.
Forsberg, 32, set his current career-highs in points (94), goals (48), and assists (46) during the 2023-24 season, which is ironically the same season that Nashville last qualified for the postseason. So far, he's set to surpass two of those markers if he's able to keep producing at the same pace he did during the month of October.
Forsberg went on a tear at the end of October, finishing the NHL's opening month with four-straight multi-point performances. He's had nine points, four of which were goals, in the past week.
As a result, Forsberg currently sits on pace to finish the season above the 100-point threshold for the first time in his career thanks to the NHL's increase to 84 games. If he continues to produce at the same rate, he'll set new career highs in points (102) and assists (72). Of course, his goal scoring will probably step up in the near future as well considering he's on pace to finish the season with just 30 goals, which would be his lowest tally since 2022-23 when he played just 50 games.
Forsberg is already the Predators' all-time goals leader, leading David Legwand by 153 at this point in time. He's also right behind current captain Roman Josi for the franchise's all-time points record. Considering Josi was also playing above a point-per-game pace during the first month of the 2026-27 season, it might be quite a while before Forsberg is able to make up the 21-point deficit to surpass him though.
