    Game Summary

The Predators started the game on their heels a bit, spending a lot of time in the defensive zone during the first 10 minutes of the first period.Marchessault finally opened the scoring for Nashville on a tic-tac-toe play from Filip Forsberg and Steven Stamkos at 13:37 of the first period.

Pandemonium ensued midway through the second period when a cross-check from Luke Evangelista against Will Cuylle resulted in a net front skirmish and a fight between Marc Del Gaizo and Cuylle. A total of 16 penalty minutes were assessed in the aftermath, resulting in a 5-on-4 power play for New York, but Nashville's top-ranked penalty kill kept the Rangers off the board.

Wilsby extended the Predators' lead to 2-0 at 11:59 of the third period, when he deked around Rangers forward Reilly Smith at the blue line, skated down the slot and fired a wrist shot through traffic to beat Shesterkin for what would end up being the game-winning goal.
