The Nashville Predators defeated the St Louis Blues Saturday afternoon, and Luke Schenn got on the scoresheet with his first goal as a Predator.

Luke Schenn scored his first goal as a Nashville Predator Saturday afternoon in a game against the St Louis Blues.
It's been a tough season for Luke Schenn since being signed by GM Barry Trotz on July 1. The 34-year-old defenseman was injured in the first game of the season and missed the next eighteen games for the Predators. Even after returning to the lineup on November 26, it took Schenn time to get back up to game speed.
In the 36 games he's played for the Predators this season, Schenn has averaged just under fifteen minutes a game, but on Saturday against the Blues he logged 17:32 of ice time playing with veteran Ryan McDonagh and on the penalty kill. Schenn and the Predators were able to defeat the Blues 5-2 and earn two points in a tight wildcard race.
The highlight of the game for Schenn came almost eight minutes into the third period. Schenn's point shot got through traffic and past Jordan Binnington to give the Predators a 4-1 lead over the Blues and give Schenn his first goal as a Predator.
Schenn's parents were there to see their son's first goal with Nashville. They came to watch Luke and his brother Brayden, a center is in his seventh season with the Blues.

Schenn and the Predators still have more work to do if they hope to stay in the postseason conversation sitting two point outside of a wildcard spot. They have an important road trip ahead where they will face the Vegas Golden Knights, L.A. Kings, San Jose Sharks, and Anaheim Ducks over the next week.
