Forward has 9 goals, 25 points in 38 games for Milwaukee this season.
The Nashville Predators recalled forward Joakim Kemell from the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals Thursday, one day after the Minnesota Wild claimed forward Vinnie Hinostroza off waivers from the Predators.
Kemell has nine goals, 25 points and 29 penalty minutes in 38 games for the Admirals this season. He is tied for second on the team in points and third in assists. At age 20, he is tied for seventh in assists and tied for eighth in points among U-21 skaters in the AHL. Kemell recorded seven points (1 goal, 6 assists) in his last six games leading into the AHL All-Star break and represented Milwaukee at the 2025 AHL All-Star Classic on Monday.
Originally selected by Nashville in the first round (No. 17 overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft, Kemell recorded 41 points (16 goals, 25 assists) in 67 games in his first full season with Milwaukee in 2023-24. He finished last season ranked in the Top 5 among AHL players aged 20-or-younger in goals, points and assists. Kemell also recorded 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) in 15 postseason games last year.
In his debut season with the Admirals in 2022-23, Kemell recorded 13 points (6 goals, 7 assists) in 14 games and led Milwaukee in postseason goals with eight. Over parts of three career AHL seasons, he has 79 points (31 goals, 48 assists) in 119 games and 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists) in 29 playoff games.
Nashville currently has two injured forwards – Luke Evangelista (day-to-day, lower body) and Mark Jankowski (week-to-week, upper-body) – so it's possible Kemell makes his NHL debut with the Predators Friday against the Chicago Blackhawks.
