Hockey insider Eliotte Friedman broke the news that the Nashville Predators have traded right winger Nino Niederreiter to the Winnipeg Jets in return for a 2024 second round pick.
Niederreiter played 56 games this season for the Predators after signing a 2 year, $8 million dollar contract with Nashville on July 21. The 30 year old scored 18 goals and recorded 10 assists in his time with the Predators.
Moving Niederreiter as the Predators are without Ryan Johansen for approximately twelve weeks and currently sitting outside of the wildcard window in exchange for a 2024 draft pick may signal how General Manager David Poile sees the team's season and future unfolding.
