After he exited last night's game against the Montreal Canadiens with an upper-body injury, the Nashville Predators have placed defenseman William Trudeau on the injured reserve.

The Predators revealed that Trudeau is considered week-to-week. Notably, Mavrik Bourque who also left the game with an upper-body injury has not been placed on the injured reserve, so he'll likely be good to go in the near future.

Trudeau, who the Predators claimed off of waivers from the New York Rangers during the preseason, is a Quebec native who started his professional career with the Canadiens organization. Montreal originally drafted the now 23-year-old defenseman back in 2021 with the 113th overall selection. He spent the last four years with the Canadiens' AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket, before being traded to the Rangers in June.

Trudeau then went on to make the Predators' opening night roster and made his NHL debut against the Dallas Stars on October 3. He left the game in Montreal after just 4:39 of ice time.
