Steven Stamkos didn't lose a step as he scored from his spot for his first with the Nashville Predators.
There are few players in the NHL who have a "spot" and Steven Stamkos is one of them. He hangs around the left circle in the offensive zone on the power play and uses his one-timer to score. This shot in his spot has gotten him many of his 605 career goals (regular season and playoffs combined).
The Tampa Bay Lightning were the only team who were able to benefit from this shot all these years until Stamkos scored his first for the Nashville Predators on the power play in his first pre-season game of the year.
Stamkos will be on the top power-play unit and there's no reason why he won't stay right around his spot on Nashville.
While he won't have Nikita Kucherov, Brayden Point, or Victor Hedman passing him the puck for the one-timer, the former captain of the Lightning will still have elite talent sending the puck his way with Roman Josi, Filip Forsberg, Jonathan Marchessault, and Ryan O'Reilly expected to man the top unit alongside him.
Get used to it Predators fans because Stamkos is going to score a lot of goals in his spot over the course of his four-year contract and it very well could be a difference maker on the road ahead as this team looks for the first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
