The Nashville Predators lost their opening game of the season to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and there were aspects of the team's performance they need to do more...and less.
The Nashville Predators opened their season Tuesday afternoon with a loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. It was the first game in a new chapter for Nashville, and new head coach Andrew Brunette has been working to implement a new system and build team chemistry in the preseason. Brunette was up front after Monday's practice that the learning curve would continue into the regular season.
There were glimpses of the new style of play in last night's 5-2 loss to the Lightning, but the Predators also fell into some unfortunate old habits in the sixty minutes. As the team prepares for game two of the 2023-24 season, the team will want to get off to a much faster start and limit the penalties they take while playing the faster pace of Brunette's system and building chemistry among linemates.
