(Bob Frid, Imagn Images)In one of what will likely be many NHL trade deadline moves, former Nashville Predators winger Anthony Beauvillier is on the move again, moving from the Pittsburgh Penguins to the Washington Capitals and yielding a 2025 second-round pick in the process.
Beauvillier, 27, was originally acquired by the Predators from the Chicago Blackhawks leading up to the NHL trade deadline last year, with Nashville parting ways with a 2024 fifth-round pick for his services.
The former first-round pick failed to make much of an impact in his short time in Nashville, producing a goal and two assists in 15 regular season games and a goal and an assist in six postseason contests.
Beauvillier has 13 goals, seven assists, and 20 points in 63 games after signing a one-year deal with Pittsburgh in July, but his modest production is, apparently, enough to yield solid draft capital at the trade deadline.
It is worth noting that Beauvillier's 13 goals would be tied with the recently departed Tommy Novak, ironically now a member of the Penguins, for fifth on the Predators, trailing only Steven Stamkos, Ryan O'Reilly, Jonathan Marchessault, and Filip Forsberg.
The Predators were just one of three teams Beauvillier played for last season; Chicago and Vancouver were the others.
