When Luke Hughes and the New Jersey Devils ended the hold out and reached an agreement on an extension. A lot of people in the NHL thought that he was overpaid. Obviously, that could be true down the road.

However, so far through four periods, he had recorded a point in each for a total of four points.  Unfortunately, he couldn't keep that going, he has played two full games and still only had four points. 

Nevertheless, it is awesome to see Hughes being this productive so early in the 2025-26 season after signing that massive extension.
