    New Jersey Devils 2023-24 Schedule: Dates You Need to Know

    Players report to training camp in less than a month.

    NEWARK, N.J. -- The NHL released the 2023-24 schedule earlier this summer, and between the Stadium Series and seeing all three Hughes brothers play together at the NHL level, New Jersey Devils fans have plenty to be excited about. 

    The club will open the season with a three-game homestand, with the season getting underway versus the Detroit Red Wings. Below are some key dates to remember as fans begin planning the 2023-24 campaign.

    Notable Games of the 2023-24 Campaign 

    Oct. 12, 2023: The Devils open the season at home versus the Red Wings. 

    Nov. 18, 2023: New Jersey will face the New York Rangers in Newark for the first time since the Devils' Game 7 victory in Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

    Jan. 22, 2024: New Jersey faces reigning Stanley Cup Champions Vegas Golden Knights in Newark.

    Feb. 17, 2024: The Devils head outdoors to play the Philadelphia Flyers at MetLife Stadium as part of the 2024 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series.

    Mar. 9, 2024: The Carolina Hurricanes return to NJ for the first time since eliminating the Devils in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. 

    April 15, 2024: The 2023-24 regular season comes to an end in New Jersey as the Devils host the New York Islanders. 

    Former Players and Coaches Return to Prudential Center 

    Nov. 24, 2023: The Devils will host the Columbus Blue Jackets. It will mark Damon Severson's first return to Newark since he was traded on June 9, 2023. 

    Dec. 1, 2023: Mackenzie Blackwood, Fabian Zetterlund, and the San Jose Sharks travel to New Jersey for their lone visit to the Garden State. It will be the first time Timo Meier will face his former club.

    Dec. 13, 2023: New Jersey hosts the Boston Bruins and will welcome back Pavel Zacha and, for the first time, Jesper Boqvist. It's worth noting that ex-Devils A.J. Greer and Reilly Walsh are also in the Bruins organization.  

    Feb. 6, 2024: For the first time in his career, Miles Wood will be in the visiting locker room at Prudential Center. New Jersey will face the Avalanche in Newark. 

    Mar. 19, 2024: Many former Devils return to Prudential Center with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Ty Smith, Andreas Johnsson, and Ryan Graves will all face their former team. 

    April 7, 2024: Former associate coach Andrew Brunette comes back to New Jersey for the first time since accepting the head coach position with the Nashville Predators.

    Storylines to Watch

    Nov. 5, 2023: The Devils will travel to Illinois and see first-overall pick Connor Bedard and the Blackhawks for the first time this season. 

    Dec. 5, 2023: New Jersey travels to Vancouver and sets the stage for the first time Quinn, Jack, and Luke Hughes will play together at the NHL level.  

    Jan. 6, 2024: The first opportunity for fans in New Jersey to see all three Hughes brothers play together as the Canucks come to town.  

    Feb. 27, 2024: Timo Meier returns to San Jose for the first time since the trade on Feb. 26, 2023.
