On Tuesday, Hughes was officially ruled out from competing in the event but will still serve as co-captain for the All-Star Draft with his brother and Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes. The Devils’ forward leads the team with 50 points, boasting 19 goals and 31 assists. Since Hughes’ injury, Bratt has five goals and two assists for seven points, in 10 games. Hughes was also set to participate in Friday’s All-Star Skills Competition, but he will be replaced by New York Islanders forward Mathew Barzal. All-Star weekend will begin on Thursday night with the NHL All-Star Player Draft.
