Former Bridgeport Islanders forward Chris Terry joined Hockey Night in New York to discuss his tenure with the Islanders, what newly appointed Bridgeport head coach Rick Kowalsky is like, his thoughts on some of the organization's top prospects, and more.

Following a career year with the Bridgeport Islanders in his second season in the New York Islanders organization, 34-year-old forward Chris Terry is joining the Chicago Wolves.
Before he heads to the Windy City to gear up for his 17th pro season, he joined Stefen Rosner and Sean Cuthbert on Hockey Night in New York to talk about his tenure with the Islanders, what newly appointed Bridgeport head coach Rick Kowalsky is like, his thoughts on some of the organization's top prospects, and more.
His first season with Bridgeport came at the tail-end of COVID-19. But the virus didn't stop the Islanders organization from doing the most for their players on all levels.
"They probably spent money that they weren't required to, to ensure the safety not only of the players but our families and everyone was taken care of," Terry said. "I enjoyed my time with Bridgeport. I was treated fantastically."
Terry had incredible things to say about Kowalsky, as he really enjoyed working with him.
"I really like his mind as a coach," Terry said. "I think he has a lot of creativity to his coaching style, the way he thinks the game, the way he wants his players to play, so we connected on numerous levels."
Seeing players get to the NHL is something that Terry loved to be a part of. He knows where he is in his career, citing that he wasn't a threat to these young guys.
We asked Terry about William Dufour, Ruslan Iskhakov and Matthew Maggio during the interview.
While Maggio only played a few games, Terry spoke rather highly of the other two, stating that Iskhakov is "probably one of the most skilled players I have ever played with."
