    The date was April 12, 1987. It was a first-round playoff game between the New York Islanders and Washington Capitals, a Game Seven.

    It began on Easter Eve and ended on Easter Sunday. Either way, it was epic, needing four overtime to crown a winner. 

    Pat LaFontaine's tally at Capital Centre in suburban Landover, Maryland, was scored at 8:47 of the fourth extra session sending the Islanders to the second round.
