The New York Islanders concluded their season with a 5-1 loss against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Adam Pelech and Ryan Pulock did not play, which allowed Adam Boqvist and Mike Reilly to return to the lineup. Scott Perunovich played in his second straight game with Alexander Romanov missing his second straight game due to illness.

Marcus Hogberg got the start.

Here's how the game transpired:

The first period was as one would expect between two eliminated teams. But the second period was all Columbus, with the Islanders allowing five goals in the second period on 11 shots to trail 5-0 after two periods:

Hudson Fasching ended Jett Greaves' shutout at 14:48 of the third with a glove-side snipe:

However, Adam Fantilli answerd to give the Blue Jackets a 6-1 lead at 18:37 of the third: and that's how it ended.

The Islanders finish the season with a 35-35-12 record, the 10th-worst record in the NHL.
