Bo Horvat does it again, scoring in overtime to give the Islanders the 3-2 win over the Dallas Stars to snap a two-game skid.
After two straight losses, the New York Islanders were in Dallas to face the Central Divisoin-leading Stars in need of two points.
Thank Mathew Barzal and Bo Horvat for getting New York the much-needed two points.
Here's how it happened:
Ryan Pulock gave the Islanders a 1-0 lead with a wrist shot blocker side on Scott Wedgewood at 15:59 of the first. Simon Holmstrom peeled back before feeding Pulock, who held the puck before letting the wrist shot go from above the hash marks.
Matt Duchene tied the score at 1-1 while on the power play after putting a rebound back from where it came after a Thomas Harley point shot went off Ilya Sorokin's pad through a screen.
After Pierre Engvall made a strong play in transition, shooting the puck and getting to the rebound first, he found Kyle MacLean in the slot for his second career goal and a 2-1 lead at 15:24 of the second.
Logan Stankoven scored his first NHL goal at 18:17 of the second after he beat Soroekin short side past the blocker after he was left open due to Adam Pelech and Noah Dobson both jumping on Wyatt Johnson.
After one of the better overtime shifts of Mathew Barzal's career, he finds Bo Horvat for the one-time finish as the Islanders beat the Stars 3-2 at 2:54 of overtime.
UP NEXT: The Islanders head to Detroit to face the Red Wings at 7 PM on Thursday night.
