EAST MEADOW, NY -- The New York Islanders conclude their preseason schedule as they host the New Jersey Devils Friday night at UBS Arena,

Puck drop is scheduled for 7 PM ET.

After playing Thursday night, a 5-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, the Islanders held a rather optional morning skate Friday morning, as just five skaters hit the ice.

The three forwards were Brock Nelson, Bo Horvat, Matt Martin, and Adam Pelech, with Ilya Sorokin between the pipes.

"I think you can just work on little things, like picking pucks up off the wall and shots, one-timers, little touches around the net, things that in practice with 23 bodies out there, you can't really do," Martin said. "Pucks are flying everywhere. You can't stand out front and work on something, so you get a few of these throughout the year, and you can kind of go out there and just, like I said, work on some of the little things that are really the big things of the game and try to put them in motion in the game tonight."

Islanders head coach Lane Lambert was under the weather Friday morning, so he will speak around 4:45 PM. He will be behind the bench tonight, per the team.

The Islanders have gone 2-3-0 in preseason thus far, with a chance to finish at .500, with the hope of finishing on a good note.

The Devils did not hold a morning skate.
