Adam Pelech and Hudson Fasching missed morning skate.

EAST MEADOW, NY -- When the New York Islanders hit the ice Saturday morning ahead of their battle with the Florida Panthers, two players were missing: Adam Pelech and Hudson Fasching

Pelech, who had left the ice with 8:10 to play in the third period of their 4-3 loss to the Montreal Canadiens after Brendan Gallagher gave him an elbow in the neutral zone.

That hit -- a five-minute major and a game misconduct -- led to a five-game suspension. It's likely Pelech, who suffered a concussion last season, missing 21 games, will be out for quite a bit.

Prior to Pelech's injury, Fasching -- a late edition to the lineup due to Matt Martin being out sick -- fell awkwardly into the boards on a breakaway attempt.

He got up and skated to the bench in a ton of pain but stayed on the bench.

During the next T.V. timeout, the second-year Islander tested what appeared to be his knee, ultimately telling the trainers that he couldn't continue before he left the ice with 12:18 to play in the second period.

This story will be updated following morning skate.
