With the college season coming to an end for many teams, NHL teams have begun signing available college free agents.
The New York Islanders quickly joined the action, signing forward Gleb Veremyev to a two-year, entry-level contract, beginning next season, as well as forward Max Dorrington to an amateur tryout agreement with the Bridgeport Islanders.
One of the more notable free agents set to hit the market is Liam McLinskey, a forward with the College of the Holy Cross.
McLinskey, 24, is tied for third among college players with 51 points (23 goals, 28 assists) in 39 games.
He is a top-10 Hobey Baker finalist for the second consecutive year and was also named both Player of the Year and Forward of the Year in the Atlantic Hockey America conference.
While his season is still ongoing, his combination of offensive skill, size, and strength is expected to draw significant interest from NHL teams once it concludes.
