The New York Islanders can find themselves in a wild-card spot by the end of the night with a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Columbus has struggled as of late, going 2-7-1 in their last 10 games, falling 6-3 to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday.
However, they are getting two key players back.
Per The Athletic's Aaron Portzine, forward Sean Monahan and defenseman Erik Gudbranson will return to the lineup, providing a much-needed spark.
Monahan, who signed a five-year deal worth $27.5 million, has missed the last 30 games due to a wrist injury. Before the injury, he was a point-per-game player with 41 points (14 goals, 27 assists) in 41 games.
He'll slot in on the top line.
Gudbranson has only played in three games, sustaining a shoulder injury on Oct. 15.
He'll slot in on the third pairing.
Puck drop is slated for 7:30 PM ET at UBS Arena.
