The Bridgeport Islanders have named David Cunniff and Chad Kolarik as the assistant coaches who will be joining Rocky Thompson's staff.

Cunniff, 54, spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach for the Utica Comets of the AHL.

Before that, he spent over two seasons with the Worcester Railers -- the New York Islanders' ECHL affiliate -- splitting time between head coach and general manager.

He has also spent time as an assistant or associate coach with the Cleveland Barons, Worcester Sharks, Albany Devils, Iowa Wild, and Hartford Wolfpack of the AHL.

Kolarik, 39, has been an assistant coach with the United States Development Program since 2022.

He played in six career NHL games, split between the Columbus Blue Jackets and New York Rangers, as well as 277 career AHL games between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Connecticut Whale, Springfield Falcons, Syracuse Crunch, and San Antonio Rampage.
