On Thursday, the Bridgeport Islanders announced their entire 2025-26 season. As part of their 25th anniversary, they've also announced that they will have 14 Sound Tigers Saturdays.
Before changing their name to the Bridgeport Islanders ahead of the 2021-22 season, they were the Bridgeport Sound Tigers since 2000. It was cool, having a different name than their NHL affiliate, which created a passionate fan base in Connecticut.
Fans longed for their return, and now they've got it, in what could be their final season in Bridgeport. Reports have indicated that the team will likely be moving to Hamilton, Ontario but there has been no official confirmation from the team at this time.
While we don't have all the details on how they'll celebrate their 25th season, their Sound Tigers Saturdays will feature a brand-new third jersey with the old logo on it.
Puck drops for Bridgeport's season on Oct. 11 against the Providence Bruins at 7 PM in front of the Total Mortgage Arena crowd. That is the first Sound Tigers Saturday of the season.
