Long Island native James Hagens may not be the consensus No. 1 overall pick at the 2025 NHL Draft. But a group of passionate New York Islanders fans are making their voices heard.
Whether at All American in Massapequa -- 4286 Merrick Rd, Massapequa -- or the jam-packed parkways, some Islanders fans hope the Islanders select the Hauppage native, whether at No. 1 or trading down in the draft to select the Boston College forward.
There's no question that Hagens is more valuable to the Islanders franchise than anywhere else. In addition to being a talented forward, he becomes a marketing machine for the Islanders, a player they can build around, on the ice and off of it.
I caught up with Hagens' childhood coach, Jack Grieg, to talk about James, his family, what it would mean for him to be an Islander, and more, with that interview dropping Monday morning over at The Elmonters.
