Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar did not have a strong game in their 6-2 loss at the hand of the New York Islanders on Monday night.

He was on the ice for four of the six goals that entered the back of his net, which included Mathew Barzal's empty-net goal.

On Brock Nelson's second of the game, it was Makar who, on the power play, turned the puck over at his own blue line:

Then, on Anthony Duclair's goal, Makar got caught behind his own net, leaving No. 11 wide-open at the top of the crease:

In 22:26 minutes, Makar had two shots on seven attempts, missing the net three times.

"I'm hard on myself, but at the end of the day, I got to be better for these guys," Makar said postgame. It's definitely a lot closer game if I don't play tonight."
