Danny Nelson continues to excel for Team USA.
New York Islanders prospect Danny Nelson has been one of Team USA's top forwards at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championships.
Through their five preliminary games, going 4-1-0, the Notre Dame forward scored three goals with one assist.
In their elimination game against Switzerland on Thursday afternoon, Nelson came through yet again with his fourth goal of the tournament to give his team a 4-1 lead at 16:44 of the first.
After leading the rush, Oliver Moore (Chicago Blackhawks) fed Nelson, who quickly beat Swiss goalie Christian Kirsch far side from the low slot:
Drafted 49th overall in 2023, Nelson is in his second season at the Notre Dame, where he has eight goals and five assists for 13 points in 18 games.
He had nine goals with 14 assists for 23 points in 30 games during his freshman season.
Nelson has yet to sign his entry-level contract, but he can join the organization once he does or if he signs an American HL League PTO at the end of his collegiate season.
That is if he is ready to leave college and become a pro.
