Former New York Islanders forward Anthony Beauvillier had himself a night for the Washington Capitals in Game 1 of their first-round series against the Montreal Canadiens.

With the Capitals up 1-0, Beauvillier extended that lead by getting dirty, burying a rebound at 12:09 of the second period:

In ovetime is where Beauvillier accomplished a historic feat, as he found Alex Ovechkin for the Great 8's first-ever playoff overtime goal:

With that assist, Beauvillier became the first player ever to record assists on a Sidney Crosby and Ovechkin goal in the same season, per Islanders statistician Eric Hornick.

Beauvillier earned the secondary assist on two Crosby goals this season.

The 27-year-old recorded 20 points (13 goals, seven assists) in 63 games before ending his season with five points (two goals, three assists) in 18 games with Washington.

He was dealt to the Capitals at the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline for a 2025 second-round pick.
