    Former New York Islanders’ defenceman Zdeno Chara has been named to the NHL’s Quarter Century Team.

    He played 303 career games with the Islanders, first from 1997 to 2001, then in the 2021-22 season.

    He had 43 points (eight goals, 35 assists) in those 303 games. 

    In 1,680 career NHL games, Chara had 680 points (209 goals, 471 assists) between his time with the Islanders, Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators, and Washington Capitals.

    He won the 2011 Stanley Cup with the Bruins and the James Norris Memorial Trophy in 2009.
