Former Islander Jeremy Colliton joins the New Jersey Devils coaching staff.
As the New Jersey Devils round out Sheldon Keefe's coaching staff, another former New York Islanders skater will join their Metropolitan Division rival. Jeremy Colliton, a forward for five seasons on Long Island, joined the Devils' coaching staff on Tuesday.
Travis Green, another former Islander was an assistant last season with the Devils before being named Interim Head Coach mid-season.
Colliton played forward for the Islanders after being drafted in the second round of the 2003 NHL Draft. After playing between the NHL and AHL, he totaled three goals and three assists in 57 games for the big club.
Colliton has four seasons of head coaching experience with the Chicago Blackhawks, guiding them to an 87-92-26 record before getting let go in November 2021. Most recently, he was in the Vancouver Canucks organization, working as the head coach of their AHL affiliate in Abbotsford. He led the team to a pair of playoff berths and identical 40-25-7 regular season records.
One of his players in Abbotsford: former Islanders prospect Aatu Raty, acquired in the Bo Horvat trade.
The hiring of Colliton, who will handle the forwards and power play, officially rounds out his coaching staff. Associates Ryan McGill, Chris Taylor, Sergei Brylin and goalie coach Dave Rogalski.
