The Seattle Kraken have hired former New York Islanders head coach Lane Lambert to be the team’s next head coach.
Lambert, 60, joined the Islanders as an associate coach in 2018.
He was promoted to head coach in 2022 following Barry Trotz’s departure and went 61-46-20 over one and a half seasons before being relieved of his duties in January 2024.
Lambert then joined the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 2024-25 season as an associate coach.
Now, Lambert becomes the third head coach in Kraken history, following Dave Hakstol (2021-2024) and Dan Bylsma (2024-25).
The former Islanders bench boss now reunites with Kraken captain and former Islander, Jordan Eberle.
