Former New York Islanders prospect Kieffer Bellows is getting another NHL opportunity. On Thursday, the former 19th overall pick in 2016 was recalled by his former head coach and current Nashville Predators general manager Barry Trotz:
The 26-year-old forward, who signed a one-year, two-way deal with Nashville this summer, had 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) in 41 games with Milwaukee of the American Hockey League.
Bellows has not played in the NHL since the 2022-23 season.
After being placed on waivers by the Islanders on Oct. 27, 2022, he was claimed by the Philadelphia Flyers. Bellows played 27 games with the Flyers, with three goals.
Ahead of the 2023-24 season, Bellows signed a professional tryout (PTO) with the Carolina Hurricanes but did not get a contract.
He then signed a PTO with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL in October before earning an AHL deal for the rest of the campaign.
