Syracuse Crunch GM and Tampa Bay Lightning assistant GM Stacy Roest is no longer with the Lightning organization.
Roest, 51, joined the Lightning organization as Director of Player Development and an assistant coach for the Crunch in 2013-14 and was promoted to GM for the Crunch in 2019.
He led the Crunch to four playoff appearances and a points percentage above .550 in all six seasons as GM.
He is also a veteran of 244 NHL games, split between the Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota Wild.
Roest's departure carries weight for the New York Islanders, as he likely worked closely with Mathieu Darche, the former Lightning assistant GM and Director of Hockey Operations, who is now serving as the Islanders’ general manager.
It remains unknown whether Roest's departure will impact the Islanders, but with the Bridgeport Islanders finishing the 2024-25 AHL season with the league's worst record, he could have a clear opportunity to reshape a roster of his own.
