Hamilton Hammers Sign Ryan Healey
The Islanders’ new collegiate standout joins the blue line on a one-year deal, bolstering Hamilton’s roster alongside goaltender Ryan Fanti ahead of the upcoming AHL season.
The Hamilton Hammers, the New York Islanders' American Hockey League affiliate, announced on Sunday afternoon that they had signed right-shot defenseman Ryan Healey.
This deal is a one-year AHL deal.
Hamilton also announced that they have signed goaltender Ryan Fanti to a one-year AHL deal.
The Hockey News reported the goalie signing on Saturday morning.
Healey, 22, was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft and had spent the last four seasons at Harvard, where he recorded 55 points (19 goals, 36 assists) in 130 NCAA games.
The Islanders acquired the rights to Healey on June 27 from the Wild for future considerations.
His rights were set to expire on Aug. 15. Because it is strictly an AHL deal, any NHL team can sign Healey.
