With the Colorado Avalanche falling 4-2 to the Dallas Stars in Game 7 of their first-round series, their trade-deadline deal with the New York Islanders is officially complete.
Here was the trade:
COL receives: F Brock Nelson, F William Dufour
NYI receives: F Calum Ritchie, 2026 or 2027 1st, 2028 conditional 3rd, D Oliver Kylington
The Islanders will not receive the conditional 2028 third-round pick.
The condition on the pick stipulated the Islanders would receive the Avalanche's 2028 third-round pick if the Avalanche reached the 2025 Stanley Cup Final and Nelson played in 50% or more of their games.
The pick will remain with Colorado.
Nelson, a pending unrestricted free agent, had 13 points (six goals, seven assists) in the final 19 games of the regular season before four assists in seven postseason games.
