When the New York Islanders took the ice for morning skate before their game against Utah HC, starting netminder Ilya Sorokin was absent. 

The Islanders shared an update:

Sorokin made 30 saves for his second shutout of the season on Thursday in their 4-0 win over the Vegas Golden Knights. 

Marcus Hogberg will make his second start of the season. He made 38 saves on 41 shots in their 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Dec. 29.

In three appearances, Hogberg has turned aside 55. of 58 shots he's faced.
