Twenty-five prospects headline the youth movement in Elmont, featuring high-scoring junior standouts and hungry undrafted invitees fighting to secure their future within the organization’s system.
The New York Islanders have announced their Rookie Camp roster. Their roster contains 25 players, including 15 forwards, seven defenseman and three goaltenders:
F: Beauchemin, Berg, Bottrill, Eiserman, Eklund, Finley, Gallacher, McCann, Nurmi, Poletin, Prokhorov, Puchner, Romano, Veremyev
D: Aitcheson, Antonacci, Brown, Dravecky, George, Healey, Odelius, Pulkkinen
G: Hood, Kotai, Trotter
As you can see, there are a few rookie camp invitees: Lane Gallacher, Samuel Beachemin, Ryan Bottrill, Kadon McCann, Luke Puchner, Luke Antonacci, Julian Brown, and Aaron Trotter.
Lane Gallacher, who took part in Islanders' development camp, is an 18-year-old left-shot center who recorded 18 points (five goals, 13 assists) in 32 regular-season games for the OHL's Guelph Storm this past season. He recorded one assist in four playoff games.
He played the 2024-25 and 2025-season for now Hamilton head coach Jay McKee, when he was with the Brantford Bulldogs.
Samuel Beauchemin is a 20-year-old left-shot center who has spent the last four seasons with the QMJHL's Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. He recorded 66 points (16 goals, 50 assists) in 64 regular-season games, before 14 points (nine goals, five assists) in 17 playoff games.
Ryan Bottrill, 24, is a right-shot left winger who played five games (no points) for the Iowa Wild, the AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, after a four-year ECAC career. He played the final two of those four years at Clarkson University and recorded 36 points (nine goals, 27 assists) during the 2025-26 season.
Kadon McCann is another left-shot center who just finished off a four-year WHL career with the Medicine Hat Tigers, winning a WHL Championship in 2024-25. This past season, he recorded 43 points (21 goals, 22 assists) in 68 regular-season games, before recording four points (one goal, three assists) in 15 playoff games.
Luke Puchner, 18, spent four seasons at Shattuck St. Mary's before joining the USHL's Lincoln Stars, recording just one assist in two games. He will be playing the 2026-27 season in the WHL with the Seattle Thunderbirds.
****Luke Antonacci is a 23-year-old right-shot defenseman who just signed a deal with the Islanders' ECHL affiliate, the Trenton Thunder. He played 15 games for the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies in 2025-26, recording four points (two goals, two assists) after playing his final NCAA season with Lake Superior State University.
Julian Brown, 20, is a left-shot defenseman who spent the 2025-26 season with the OHL's London Knights (one goal and six assists in 36 games) and Owen Sound Attack (three goals and three assists in 24 games before one assist in four playoff games).
Lastly, we have 25-year-old goaltender Aaron Trotter, who appeared to have a deal in place to play for the AHL's Calgary Wranglers in 2026-27 after completing a four-year stint at the University of St. Thomas. In 14 starts last season, he owned a 2.39 GAA with a .910 SV%.
The Islanders' prospects will play two prospect games against the New Jersey Devils' prospects.
The first of the two games will be on Sunday, Sept. 13 in New Jersey and 2 PM ET with the Islanders playing hosts on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 6 PM ET at their practice facility.
