On Friday night, New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat, defenseman Noah Dobson, and Team Canda beat Slovenia 4-0 to kick off the 2025 World Championships

Horvat, usually a centerman, skated on Canada's top line alongside Colorado Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon and Philadelphia Flyers forward Travis Konecny, his second cousin.

Dobson skated alongside Calgary Flames defenseman Mackenzie Weegar on Canada's second pairing:

It was a good night for Canada and both Islanders. Horvat scored two goals, while Dobson added another.

Horvat's first of two came on the power play from his usual bumper position, rocketing home a MacKinnon pass at 7:22 of the first period, 12 seconds into the man advantage, to give Canada a 1-0 lead:

After MacKinnon made it 2-0, Horvat found the back of the net again on the power play from the bumper position. Only this time, he was a tad farther back, more toward the left circle at 13:37 of the second:

Dobson wanted in on the fun, with his power-play goal following Horvat's to give Canda a 4-0 lead at 16:55 of the third after he finished off a rush pass from San Jose's rookie phenom Macklin Celebrini

Horvat, Dobson, and Canada are back in action for their second game when they battle Latvia on May 11 at 10:20 PM ET.
