Ryan Pulock’s multi-week absence deepens a defensive crisis for the injury-plagued Islanders, forcing the club to lean on AHL reinforcements as they prepare for a difficult stretch.
The New York Islanders announced on Sunday that defenseman Ryan Pulock will miss 2-4 weeks with an upper-body injury.
Defenseman Isaiah George, who was returned to Hamilton of the American Hockey League, will likely be recalled after he suits up for the AHL affiliate on Sunday.
Pulock, who sustained his injury early in their 4-3 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday, joins Alexander Romanov (torn ACL), Matias Maccelli (upper body, 2-4 weeks), Cal Ritchie (upper body, 4-6 weeks), and Mathew Barzal (left knee) on the injured list.
The Islanders don't play again until Thursday night against the Carolina Hurricanes.
