For the first time since 2019, the New York Islanders will be holding a more traditional development camp.
Under former general manager Lou Lamoriello, the Islanders would have their prospects show up at Northwell Ice Center a week before the NHL pros. While that was valuable time for the youngsters to learn, the timing of the camp hindered the attendance of prospects who play in college.
Now, with Mathieu Darche at the helm, development camp will occur right after the 2025 NHL Draft, with dates and times not official just yet.
Most, if not all of the top names in the prospect system will be able to attend.
Cole Eiserman, who the Islanders drafted 20th overall in 2024, headlines the event after a successful freshman season at Boston University. Danny Nelson, taken 49th overall in 2023, just finished up his sophomore season at Notre Dame, Kyle Palmieri and Anders Lee's alma mater.
Quinn Finley, fresh off a breakout sophomore season at the University of Wisconsin, was selected in the third round of the 2022 NHL Draft.
Calum Ritchie, who was acquired in the Brock Nelson deal, was selected 27th overall in 2023 by the Colorado Avalanche and is considered the organization's top prospect, as of now.
Here is a projected list of players expected to attend, which does not include any players selected by the Islanders in the 2025 NHL Draft.
