BUFFALO, NY -- The New York Islanders did their due dilligence at the 2025 NHL Draft Combine.

According to NHL.com's Michael Morreale, general manager Mathieu Darche met with over 60 of the 90 draft-eligible prospects this weekend.

Outside of D Matthew Schaefer, F Michael Misa, and F James Hagens, other names they spoke to were Brantford Bulldog's F Jake O'Brien, Brampton Steelheads' F Porter Martone,  F Anton Frondell, and F Victor Eklund of Djurgardens, Boston University D Sascha Boumedienne, Vancouver Giants F Cameron Schmidt, Fargo Force's F Mason West, just to name a few.

After the No. 1 pick, the Islanders select at No. 42, No. 74, No. 106, No. 138, No. 170, and No. 202.

Most of the names above won't be there, but I'd keep an eye on Schmidt, who could fall into the second round.
