Semyon Varlamov makes a long-awaited return to the crease as a confident, unchanged lineup storms Madison Square Garden for a high-stakes rivalry clash against the Rangers.
NEW YORK, NY -- The New York Islanders (1-1-0) battle the New York Rangers (3-1-0) on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.
Puck drop is at 7:30 PM ET. This game is an ESPN exclusive, so there will be no MSG Networks broadcast.
The Islanders are going with the same lineup they went with in their 6-0 beatdown of the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.
The biggest difference is who will be between the pipes, as Semyon Varlamov will make his first NHL start since Nov. 29, 2024, after missing nearly two years after undergoing two partial knee procedures.
Here's the lineup:
FORWARDS:
Emil Heineman -- Bo Horvat -- Kyle Palmieri
Brayden Schenn -- Cal Ritchie -- Victor Eklund
Anthony Duclair -- Jean-Gabreil Pageau -- Simon Holmstrom
Ondrej Palat -- Casey Cizikas -- Matias Maccelli
DEFENSE:
Adam Pelech -- Matthew Schaefer
Alexander Romanov -- Ryan Pulock
Logan Stanley -- Tony DeAngelo
GOALTENDER:
Semyon Varlamov
Ilya Sorokin
