Following Alex Ovechkin's milestone ceremony, he skated over to New York Islanders netminder Ilya Sorokin.

"I [told] him right away, 'I need that stick,'" Ovechkin said. 

Sorokin said, "No problem," and that what he was getting in return was "respect."

However, it turns out Sorokin is giving Ovechkin more than just his stick:

For someone who is going to have to watch Ovechkin score on him from now until the end of time, Sorokin handled the event with class and respect for his fellow countrymen. 

The question is, will Sorokin and Ovechkin be teammates on Team Russia for whenever their country is allowed to compete?
