On Friday, the New York Islanders announced they had signed forward Kyle Palmieri to a two-year extension and defenseman Adam Boqvist to a one-year extension.
Palmieri, who was in the final season of an expiring four-year deal worth $20 million, recorded 48 points (24 goals, 24 assists) in 82 games, not missing a single game for a second straight season.
He took a hometown discount, with his new AAV at $4.75. Per PuckPedia, he had a full no-trade clause his first year before getting a 16-team modified no-trade clause in his second and final year.
Boqvist, who joined the Islanders via waivers on Jan. 31, recorded 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 35 games split between Florida and Long Island, playing two of those games as a forward for Roy.
It was clear that Roy loved his style, an offensive-minded, strong-skating blueliner.
His contract carries an AAV of $850,000.
The Islanders now have a projected $20.943 million in available cap space, per PuckPedia.
