Gamache, a 22-year-old from Edmonton, played two seasons at Providence, recording 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) in 37 games this past season.
It was an improvement from his first season there, where he recorded 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 35 games.
The Islanders will likely hold a development camp right after the NHL Draft, which takes place on June 27 & 28.
