Fourteen players head to Hamilton as roster battles intensify ahead of a three-game preseason stretch, leaving just 38 skaters fighting for a spot on the opening night bench.
The New York Islanders announced on Tuesday that they have trimmed their training camp roster for the second time.
The following players have been optioned to Hamilton of the American Hockey League:
Cameron Berg, Hunter Drew, Cam Thiesing, Ryan Healey, Luke Rowe, Brandon Scanlin, Ryan Fanti, Joey Larson, Jesse Nurmi, Gleb Veremyev, Calle Odelius & Jesse Pulkkinen have all been assigned to Hamilton.
Ethan Bear & Henrik Tikkanen have been placed on waivers for purpose of assignment.
Hamilton training camp begins on Thursday.

The Islanders battle the New York Rangers on Tuesday night before concluding their preseason slate with a back-to-back against the Rangers on Friday and the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.
