On Tuesday, Spittin' Chiclets dropped their episode with New York Islanders No. 1 pick Matthew Schaefer, and he did not disappoint.
"I’m an Islander now. Islander for life," Schaefer said. "The fans are awesome."
The 17-year-old talked about the NHL Draft, what Islanders' development camp was like, sharing a funny story that we all witnessed live.
"In the scrimmage, I got hit, and the fans started booing the guy who hit me, so it’s sweet," Schaefer said. "The fans are awesome. Long Island is sweet.”
The player that hit him was Long Island native Marshall Warren.
The boys asked Schaefer if he had any talks with the Islanders about the future.
"We haven't really had any talks yet. Obviously, my goal is to play at the end of the summer. And I think that's what they want to hear from you. We'll figure it more down the road."
We have no reason to ruin the roast of Biz, so enjoy the interview:
